A Summer of Intergenerational Sunday School

Over the summer during Second Hour HMC met weekly for Intergenerational Sunday School. It was an amazing opportunity for members of our church of all ages--babies and little kids included--to come together and learn from the Bible as a community.

The sessions were engaging for kids and adults. They often started with a reader's theatre performance of a Bible story. Then we would break up into small groups at tables for discussion or for fun activities and crafts related to the story.

Stories that we learned from include the story of the Prodigal Son from Luke 15 with a theme of forgiveness, the story of the Persistent Widow from Luke 18 with a theme of seeking justice, and the story of Zacchaeus from Luke 19 with a theme of making amends.

Our Second Hour activities change regularly, keep an eye on our Google Calendar to see our upcoming Second Hour plans.
