At Houston Mennonite, we believe that "you can do it... we can help," like a certain big-box store. In other words, we want to support our members where their passions are and where they're already active, rather than trying to get sign-ups for a whole new bunch of programs of our own.
Houston Mennonites are active with these groups (among others):
SURJ HTX is a group focused on organizing white people for racial justice.
Houston Mennonite works to live in harmony with the world and its people. In addition to working towards zero waste, we support fair wages for all workers and buy Fair Trade where we can.
MAM is local to HMC and works to meet the basic needs of Houston residents with personalized support. Houston Mennonite is one of MAM's Member Congregations.
Volunteers sharing free vegan and vegetarian food with hungry people in Houston and promoting peace.
Houston Mennonite Church supports Casa Juan Diego, our local Catholic Worker House, through donations of time, money, and goods.
